Internet content is constantly changed. Articles posted one day can be edited the other day, new videos can be uploaded, older videos can be deleted, and so on. It can be difficult to monitor a website and stay on top of all the chances that occur on it, and that is why there is specialized software out there to help you out. Spiral Software’s Internet Owl is such a specialized piece of software. Tell it what websites you want to monitor and it will notify you about any changes made to those websites. To put it simply, this is a tool you can use to monitor your favorite websites for changes.

The Internet Owl installation file is 4.9MB in size. You can install the website monitoring application on top of anything from Windows XP onward. A very simple setup wizard will guide you through the installation process. You will be done with the whole thing in little time and with little effort.

Internet Owl uses a Microsoft Office 2007 ribbon interface. This means that buttons for all the functions it has to offer are presented on a ribbon at the top. From the Style button in the upper right hand corner you can switch between Blue, Black, Silver, and Aqua Office 2007 styles. The pane to the left presents Watched Web Pages, the pane in the middle presents a list of websites you want to monitor with Internet Owl, and the pane down at the bottom is an integrated web browser that presents the website you selected.

Getting Internet Owl to monitor a website is a simple task that starts with a click on the “Watch a new page” button from the upper left hand corner. You will then be presented with a window that lets you specify the name and URL of the website you want to watch and play with a few notification options. You can choose to be notified about changes to visible content, changes to everything including HTML formatting, or watch for specific keywords. You can set up a schedule for checking for changes (specify when Internet Owl checks for changes) and you can set it up so you will receive email notifications when changes are detected.

You have 30 days to assess the functionality Internet Owl has to offer and decide if the application is right for you. To keep using the application once the trial period expires you will have to get a license.

Staying up-to-date with changes made to your favorite sites is a simple matter if you have Internet Owl by your side.

Pros

It will take but a moment to download and install Internet Owl on a PC powered by anything from XP onward. Choose between several styles for the ribbon interface. Easily add a website to the watch list. Receive email notifications for website changes. Internet Owl displays any changes made to the watched websites. Integrated web browser.

Cons

Free to use for a trial period of 30 days.
